Pascal Rambert, the director of the Theatre of Gennevilliers and an artist with multiple talents who, at the same time, is a dramaturge, writer, stage director, choregrapher and filmmaker, is coming to Thailand in September for the publication in Thai of his “Love’s End” theatrical play by Butterfly Publishing. Love’s End gained a huge success at the Avignon Festival in 2011, and has received numerous literary awards including the prestigious Grand Prix in Dramatic Literature.

Profiting from his visit, we have invited him to take part in the third Debate on Stage (roundtable followed by a debate), which will dedicate to Thailand’s contemporary arts and cultural scene.

Together with Pascal Rambert, the film maker Anocha Suwichakornpong, the dancer and choreographer Pichet Klunchun, the president of the Thailand Centre of International Association of Theatre Critics Pawit Mahasarinand and the artistic director of B-Floor Theatre Teerawat Mulvilai are also participating and intervening in.

The roundtable and debate will be concurrently translated into French and Thai and will be preceded by a book autograph session by Pascal Rambert.

This event is organized in cooperation with the Department of Cooperation and Cultural Programs of the French Embassy in Thailand and Chulalongkorn University with the support of Pullman King Power. Several times a year, leading figures will be invited to speak and then engage in a public debate with the audience, the events focusing on three major themes: “Contemporary Challenges”, “Arts and Literature” and “History: Which Histories?.”
