Novotel Bangkok Fenix Silom announces the appointment of Mr. Gerald Hougardy as the hotel’s new general manager.

Mr. Hougardy brings to the position extensive hospitality industry experience gained in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia, including the countries of Belgium, France, United States, Algeria and Thailand. He began his career soon after graduating from university with a bachelor’s degree, his first job in fact with Accor group at Sofitel Bressels, where he worked as a Guest Services Agent in 1992.
After working for Marriot International in the U.S. from 1995 to 1996, he returned to Accor with a post in Belgium, and later in Thailand first as Resident Manager and then General Manager at Novotel Bangkok Siam Square. During his time in Southeast Asia, he has also managed the Paul Dubrule Hotel & Tourism School in Siem Reap, Cambodia; an education institution initiated by Monsieur Paul Dubrule, co-founder of Accor Group, which provides hospitality-industry training for disadvantaged Cambodian students.
In his new role as of 1st August 2013, Mr. Gerald Hougardy takes over a firm favourite among business and leisure travellers staying in the Silom district of Thailand’s capital. The area comprises major commercial sites including numerous corporate offices in addition to many of Bangkok’s main tourist and nightlife locations. Guests appreciate the hotel’s convenient location, technologically advanced accommodation and highly functional facilities, as well as contemporary food and beverage venues including signature restaurant The Square and chic bar and lounge Blue Sapphire.
Together with his new team, Mr. Gerald Hougardy is working hard to take an already well-established property to a higher level. Expect a lot of changes at Novotel Bangkok Fenix Silom. In fact, the hotel’s new general manager has his own motto – Good to Great! – and definitely has set his sights in that direction.
